About the Brand

The history of the company and the brand name of Piubelle was built up by the hand of its founders: Fernando and Judite Cordeiro – even today recognised as visionaries (and perhaps revolutionary) of home textile in Portugal and the world.

Fate, alongside the will to seize opportunities made the founders move to Brazil soon after taking their degree course at Oporto university, changing the way that the Brazilian market consumed Night Lingerie and Household Textiles.

In 1977 the pleated sheet was born: product for which Piubelle brand has become a benchmark in the home textiles industry. Initially produced in Brazil, the pleated sheets were already sold in Portugal in thousands.

Upon the return of the Piubelle founders to Portugal , it was certain that this product would be a winner and that , clearly , it would be part of its product portfolio . Even today, the pleated sheet is sought by most loyal consumers of Piubelle in the Iberian market .
